Shekhinah B. is an improv, avant-garde performing vocalist, often accompanied by live instrumentalists, whose dynamic style blends Jazz, Soul, Blues, Pop, Funk, Disco, and R&B. A New York City native with Barbadian roots and now a proud Philadelphia transplant, she is a creative hybrid recognized for her versatility across music, culture, and community impact. As seen on NBC, FOX, CBS, and PHL17, she is an internationally experienced performer, arts advocate, cultural producer, conversational curator, and author of The Art Economic Empowerment Workbook & Take Charge.
Shekhinah has made a meaningful imprint in the nonprofit and creative sectors, championing art as a tool for connection, empowerment, and representation. As Executive Director and Founder of The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment, Inc., she leads programs that strengthen creative workforce development, uplift emerging artists, and elevate underrepresented voices. She played a pivotal role in launching Philadelphia’s inaugural Juneteenth Wine & Arts Festival (JWAF), earning City citations from 2023–2025 for her historical and cultural contributions and cultural impact in Philadelphia.
As the creative cultural producer and Executive Director of The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment, Inc. She empowers creatives through workforce development, arts advocacy, and culturally rich programming. A multi-award-winning recording artist with 20+ years of experience, she is known for her genre-blending vocal performances, community impact, and leadership in Philadelphia’s creative economy.
