Join the African American Museum in Philadelphia for our annual Opening Kwanzaa Unity Celebration! In the spirit of Umjoa (Unity), which means “to strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race,” this fun, family-friendly event will feature live drumming, the lighting of the Kinara, and a chance to learn about the Nguzo Saba—the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Enjoy drumming, live music, food, and activities celebrating culture, race, and community. All hosted by this year’s incredible MC, Shekinah B! Preregistration for the event is highly encouraged. Guests are encouraged to dress in Kente, Ankara, or positive and empowering Kwanzaa-related attire all week long!

Ring in 2025 in style at the New Year on the Pier (21+) at Cherry Street Pier. Grab a front-row seat to the Visit PA New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront at midnight along with an evening of festive fun for you and the crew. Enjoy live music and DJ, and show off your moves during an epic dance party complete with a glow-in-the-dark blacklight room and warming stations. Music will be provided by the WCE Collective.
